Honey and Beeswax
Our Apiary and First Honey
In 2025 More Forest Farm registered its first apiary and started with two purchased hives and a swarm captured in our back field. Now, with those hives firmly established, we are happy to start selling our own honey at our farm stand.
Our honey is 100% raw, pure, and minimally filtered so you can attain the maximum health benefits from this amazing natural product. We are careful to preserve the honey's natural flavor and aroma as well as enzymes, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and antibacterial benefits.
Honey Is Always Changing
Much like other natural products (maple syrup comes to mind) the color and flavor of honey will change throughout the season. Flowers take turns blooming over summer and because of that the the nectar gathered by the bees will alter throughout the season. As a result, the honey made from this nectar will experience slight changes in color, taste, and aroma. Even two neighboring hives in the same apiary can produce unique flavors of honey when they discover different flowering plants and trees. This is all part of the fun of a natural product!
Feed The Bees
All the animals living on our farm are pampered, so the bees should not be treated any different! Our apiary is adjacent to our annual garden, perennial garden, and fruit tree orchard so there are plenty of flowers available all summer. All of the trees planted in our Food Forest require pollination and our bees are happy to oblige. And if that wasn't enough, we even planted a nearly 5 acre wildflower field as a dedicated Pollinator Habitat just a short flight from the apiary.
In the peak of the nectar flow you can hear bees everywhere on our farm. It doesn't matter if you are standing in a flower field or deep in the woods, you know our bees are hard at work.
Beeswax
We have just started to harvest wax as part of the normal honey extraction process. While we haven't yet started to produce products from our beeswax, we certainly plan to explore this in the future.
