Plants

Start The Seeds Right

We grow rare, non-GMO, heirloom varieties of open-pollinated fruits and vegetables. Our plants are soil blocked and air pruned to enhance root vigor. They are fed with natural fertilizers, sunlight, and captured rainwater from day one. There are no synthetic chemicals, pesticides, or herbicides used on our plants. We incorporate mycorrhizal fungi in our soil so the roots form a beneficial, symbiotic relationship with the soil biome for optimum nutrient uptake throughout their lifecycle.

Grow The Right Variety

The plant varieties we grow are selected for bold and unique flavors, not mass transport, shelf-life, or cosmetic appeal like most modern fruits and vegetables you would find in a grocery store. This is why you may not recognize our cultivar names. What we grow is less common or considered rare in many cases. Many of these cultivars are historical varieties handed down generation to generation by seed savers. You won't find hybrids here, but you will find plants that produce more nutrient-dense and flavorful foods than anything you can find in a grocery store.

The Big Box Dilemma

Plants at your local big box store are typically grown in massive greenhouses thousands of miles from where you live. The plants are loaded up and driven by truckload all across the United States. They are delivered just in time for their prescription nitrogen boost to synthetically green up their leaves to an unnatural color and entice you to purchase. What you often end up with is a root bound potted plant, often in dry hydrophobic soil, unaccustomed to the local climate, and hyped up on chemical fertilizers. A compost pile isn't even the right place for this plant.
